Mass cuts have begun when WNBA teams end their lists today. With the season from Friday, the charts of the opening day must be presented only 24 hours before the notice. While much of the cutting bone was expected, but somewhat expected, a team continues to baffle WNBA fans.
Perhaps, as expected, the hardest team to predict has the expansion franchise with the shortest transaction history: the Golden State Valkyries.
First, it was its duration of the decision its expansion draft, choosing to be predominantly international with its elections. Most of the people who wrote in December were not tested in the WNBA, which led to questions about the direction they were going.
Then came the WNBA Draft of 2025, when the Valkyries used their number 5 selection to write and hide another European player, Jobo Jocyte. Jocyte will not come to the United States for the WNBA season. They used their second round draft selection to choose Shyanne Seller, who ended up being the first player who resigned in the training camp. Another shock for WNBA fans.
The rookie cuts are normal in the WNBA, thinking, so despite the idea that sellers could recover from their apparent injury and develop with the Valkyries, fans could overcome that cut. But Golden State’s last rumored decision still has some scratching his head in confusion.
Canadian Olympic and 2022 No. 8 The General Selection of the La Eeticia Amihere City published a tweet on Wednesday afternoon, thanking the Valkyries for the opportunity. Designed cryptic, it reads as if the amihere had the leg cut from the list before the opening night.
THANK YOU FAMS AND ALL FOR LOVE ❤️ TO GOD BE THE GLORY AND THANKS VALKYRies for the opportunity

Amihere was recruited in Atlanta Dream after winning a national championship in South Carolina. The Mississauga native, Ontario, also has a basic element of the national women’s senior team, competing with the team in the 2022 World Cup and the Olympic Games of Paris 2024. After three seasons in Atlanta, Amihere had not deciphered the rotation of the team despite being a solid player in the national team.
Duration in the low season 2024-2025, the dream announced that they had renounced Amihere, and the Valkyries withdrew it from the exemptions. In Golden State’s first preseason game, Amihere scored a 20-point team in 7-11 shots from the field. It was widely expected to become a central part of the turnover of the Valkyries in its first season as WNBA franchise. At least until he published the message above.
Shortly after, the Golden State Valkyries announced their final list, and the Amihere was really cut.
It is another confusing decision of the Valkyries. With more than half of the WNBA in expired contracts this season, Golden State had the opportunity to block his current salary during the 2026 season. It is special important since the new CBA will probably see the minimum salary increase as soon as the next season, this is a decision that we will need to learn more to make sense completely.
