A Syrian government spokesman did not respond immediately to a request from the Reuters news agency to comment on how Syrian articles had recovered.

Cohen, who was born in Egypt from a Jewish family, was sent by Mossad to Syria, where a Syrian entrepreneur named Kamal Amin Taabet was passed, the BBC reported. After making friends with the influential political, commercial and military figures, he was able to obtain secret information, which returned to Israel.
