Texas politician Bobbie Mitchell stabbed, husband killed after being attacked by their grandson at home

A well -known Texas politician was stabbed and her husband killed in her home on early Monday with her grandson accused of the bloodbath.

The Denton County Commissioner for a long time, Bobbie J. Mitchell, and her husband, Fred Mitchell, were found just before 4 in the morning inside the home in Lewisville, according to the Office of the Sheriff of Denton County.

The Republican politician was included as in a stable condition, while her husband was declared dead about an hour after the attack.

His 23 -year -old grandson, Mitchell Blake Reinacher, was found on the scene and has accused of aggravated murder and assault with a mortal weapon.

Reinacher, one of the nine granddaughters of the Mitchells, according to his government’s website, is being carried out in the Lewisville prison.

The deputies were still in the processing evidence of the scene later on Monday morning while continued to investigate the circumstances that led to the attack, said the Sheriff’s office.

Bobbie J. Mitchell previously served at the Lewisville City Council before becoming the first black mayor in the city in 1993.

She resigned in 2000 to run for the County Commissioner and has held that position since then.

Lewisville is a city of approximately 120,000 people about 25 miles northwest or Dallas.
